Social Nature is a tech-enabled marketing platform that works specifically with natural, better-for-you brands. We have a community of product testers and everyday influencers who apply to try products in exchange for a review and social media post. One of my first undertakings at Social Nature was to discover why our community wasn't completing their required tasks post-campaign, and figure out how we could raise our completion rate.
After conducting research we discovered that the root of the problem was that users were simply uninformed, the click rate on our existing notifications was extremely low, and the majority of users weren't opening our email reminders. The solution was to overhaul our notifications to create a flexible, informative and delightful experience for our users. It was built for scale to add in more notifications in the future.
Our A/B test showed a 7% lift in reviews v.s the old review reminder system (140 additional reviews on average) and a 2.8% (about 56 posts per campaign) lift in our social media shares. Because of this success, we decided to extend the notification systems to assist with recruiting for campaigns and allowing our staff to push out custom notifications.
